Sociological Themes in Hikmet Kıvılcımlı
This paper, which concentrates on an early book entitled 'Metaphysical Sociologies' by the Turkish Marxist and activist Hikmet Kıvılcımlı, evaluates his arguments about the institutionalization of sociology in Turkey. Targeting Durkheimian sociology in specific, Kıvılcımlı has analyzed sociology as a promoter of western capitalism. Our aim is to reflect the criticisms that Kıvılcımlı brought to sociology by referring to the points that go beyond Orthodox Marxism.
