Studies on Ottoman Sefaretnames

Sefaretnames (Ambassadorial Accounts) are significant historical sources, because they bear primary information concerning foreign countries and they contribute to the understanding of diplomatic history of a state. There have been numerous studies on these historical sources both in Turkey and abroad. These studies were either translations, transliterations and simplifications (of the text of the) sefaretnames or they examine the diplomatic relationships between the home country and the country that is concerned in the sefaretname. In this context, many sefaretnames were studied as MA and PhD thesis.
