How to Write the History of the Dervish Lodges? A Source Classification Attempt
Abstract
This study aims to evaluate and introduce the sources that should be extensively used for writing the history of the Ottoman dervish lodges. In this context, various inscriptions, tombstones, menakıbnames, monographs, biographies, travel books as well as official and personal archives have been analyzed in terms of their contribution to this field.
