How to Use Manuscripts in Urban History?
Beside manuscripts directly related to urban history, there are many handwritten sources which are naturally engaged with this field but commonly ignored. The vikaye, zahriye and the last pages of manuscripts contain many inscriptions to be used in studies of urban history. Manuscripts on astronomy/astrology, mathematics, halting places in journeys (menazil), epics, cemeteries, biographies, autobiographies and travel accounts include significant information for this field.
