Moral Mesnevis In Anatolian Turkish Literature

Anatolia region of Turkish literature is very rich in terms of mathnawis or mesnevîs. Religious, sufistic and moral mesnevîs that are very related to each other have a great place among the mesnevî genre. This article focuses on the difficulty of distinguishing moral mesnevis from other mesnevîs and of classifying them within themselves. We will analyze eighty-two mesnevîs, which were written between XIIIrd and XXth centuries, according to their written dates, number of verses, and forms and contents. You will find a bibliography at the end of the article.
