Although the Ottomans had been ruling important part of black Africa for four centuries, there is no intensive study concerning the African cities during that period. With addition to the travelers' collection and memories, there are rich materials in many world archives such as the Ottomans Archives in Istanbul and the British National Archives in London, beside the African states' national record offices. Co-operative researches are recommended to draw attention to this important issue.
