Hasan Âli Yücel: The Portrait of a Minister of Education

Hasan Âli Yücel is the most famous minister of education in the Republican Period and the last minister of education of Single Party (Republican People’s Party) Period. This article deals with the activities of Hasan Âli Yücel that he put into practice during his term as minister of education. Furthermore, his studies covering a wide range of area from literature to psychology, from those dwelling on the issues of Turkish education system to daily newspaper articles are also examined. Both his activities and studies are tried to be evaluated in company with his life story.
