The History of Education During the Republican Era
The history of Turkish education offers fertile ground for research. It has always been difficult to draw the lines of a -history of education- due to the fact that education has penetrated into many areas throughout history. Therefore pedagogues, historians, economists, theologians and men of letter have been investigating the topic from various perspectives. In turn, this multiplicity has broadened the scope of studies conducted in the field of the history of education. In this context, this article aims to shed light on the dimensions of this breadth and provides information about the study fields of the literature on the history of education as well as the contents of this literature formed by the interdisciplinary researchers. In the end, it provides an assessment of the direction of studies on the history of education.
