An Evaluation of Doctoral Diss
This article reveals a study of doctoral dissertations conducted in the field of tafsir.
Even though a doctoral degree corresponds to an academic title, doctoral
dissertations are considered to be among the most valuable scholarly products.
The community of theology, which has enforced the research of higher religious
education in the Republic of Turkey, has advanced the production of many such
theses. In this study, the historical progress, quantitative ratios, research methods
and contents as well as the focus of these dissertations conducted in the
department of tafsir within the larger context of religious sciences will be
examined, classified and analyzed.
