This article aims to portray a panorama of dissertations concerning Islamic law, which were conducted in Turkey between 1923-2013. The issue has been tackled in its two different aspects. First, the dissertations have been statistically distributed according to years, researchers, institutions and advisors. This part tries to provide a snapshot of those periods displaying a high concentration of dissertations. In the second part, the dissertations have been subjected to a classification in terms of their themes. This framework has allowed us to situate where the dissertations fit among the four main fields of fiqh. All in all, this article has been concerned with raising a general awareness about the academic dissertations on Islamic law.
