The Fiqh Studies on Abu Hanifa

In this article, I aim to evaluate the fiqh studies on Abu Hanifa in the Republican period. These studies have gained intensity after the 90s, and the number of symposiums and academic articles focusing on Abu Hanifa has expanded after 2000. The studies on his usûl views surpass others in number, and are mostly related to his hadith views. A few studies on furu‘ are focused on an understanding and description of the classical / historical literature instead of recovering and applying Abu Hanifa’s views to our own age. In order to benefit more efficiently from the views of Abu Hanifa such as by using the takhrîj method, we need to conduct new studies about Abu Hanifa’s scientific environment, his student circles as well as his views on maqasid.
