Studies Based on Text Analysis in Classical Turkish Literature

Text analysis (Tahlil) is a method which is used to examine the Ottoman lyrics. There is a tradition concerning this method. For the first time, Ferid Kam used that method in his work: Asari Edebiye Tedkikati. And Mehmed Cavusoglu used the term in the title of the book: Necati Bey Divaninin Tahlili. Today, there are different opinions about this method among the classical Turkish literature scholars. This article explains opinions about the method. It has been written for the purpose of fixing its name and extention and system and added a list which includes the analytical studies in classical Turkish literature. The text analysis is a secondary method. It sets metaphorical words and contents of the text. Also systematical index is another important part of this method.
