The aim of this study is to shed light on works produced in Turkey in the field of history education. When the literature on the teaching of history in Turkey is analyzed, one can observe that most such works are quite recent. It is clear that for a long time, there have been no works conducted in this field other than a few theoretical ones and translations. These theoretical works have mounted in quantity since the 1990s and together with the field studies conducted on educational institutions, history education has started to gain more influence in our country. Today some very significant studies are being conducted in some universities. Despite the increase in quantity, however, the methodological problems in some are worth mentioning.
