Professor Ali Tanoğlu’s ‘Energy Resources’ Book and Studies on Energy in Geography Departments
Abstract
Throughout history, energy has had great significance as one of the main resources for the development of human civilization. The need for energy in industrial and agricultural production as well as for the maintenance of social and cultural life has rendered it a highly-desired substance. Due to this significance, energy has been subjected to analysis by multiple disciplines such as geography, economics, physics, chemistry, management, political science, geology and history. While this study was mainly written for the evaluation of the book Energy Resources by Ali Tanoğlu, it also includes publications by geographers in Turkey based on energy.
