Turkish Folk Literatüre

There has not yet been sufficient research conducted in the field of Turkish folk literature the beginning of which can be traced back to the emergence of the Turks. It is due to the lack of such studies that the concept of "Turkish folk literature" has led to an array of different opinions. Even though the most widely held opinion considers the anonymous folk literature, aşık literature and religious-mystical folk literature together with the Turkish folk literature, some researchers oppose to such conceptualization. There are not any convictions fixed on the form and styles of works falling within the folk literature. In this article, the significant works related to the Turkish folk literature have been presented through a bibliographical evaluation.
