From Institutes of Education to the Education Faculties

This study analyzes the development of teaching in Turkey as a profession from 1950s to the present day with reference to the programs, debates and numerical data based on the training of teachers. The histories of educational institutions, their administrative structures, teaching staff and the status of their students have been analyzed in their historical context. As such the process by which the professional training of teachers was raised to the level of universities has been studied step by step.
